InspectMyRide® Partners with Cars.com

Alpharetta, Ga. -- InspectMyRide LLC has become the preferred vehicle inspection company for Cars.com, a leading online resource for people buying and selling new and used cars. InspectMyRide provides buyers with the ability to get a professional inspection before buying a car online, helping them make a confident and informed purchase decision. InspectMyRide is a subsidiary of DataScan Field Services LLC, one of the largest vehicle inspection companies in the automotive industry.

With the partnership, Cars.com shoppers can now purchase an inspection from InspectMyRide.com prior to making their purchase decision.  Within approximately 48 hours of receiving the request, one of InspectMyRide’s professional inspectors from its nationwide network will contact the seller and make arrangements to perform a 150+ point inspection and road test (when conditions permit).  A detailed report with high-quality digital photos gives potential buyers a wealth of information that they might not otherwise receive from the seller’s description.  Unlike other inspection services, InspectMyRide’s reports include a unique scoring model that assigns both a numeric score and a five-star rating.  Inspections start at $129 and also include an Experian AutoCheck® summary, which lists facts about repair history and past ownership.

“Online car buying is growing in popularity because of its convenience and access to a larger inventory of used vehicles than the local dealership, but many consumers still perceive it as risky,” said Brent Sergot, Vice President and General Manager of DataScan.  “Making a small investment in a vehicle inspection offers buyers a greater level of protection and confidence in their purchase.”

The introduction of InspectMyRide was a natural progression for DataScan, which provides similar inspections and other services to the world’s largest automotive manufacturers, dealerships, lenders and financial institutions. The DataScan team has more than 25 years of experience in providing automotive inspections and repair estimates.

“This partnership with InspectMyRide brings significant value to our customers as they make their online purchasing decisions,” said Mark Seaton,  Director of Advertising & Business Development for Cars.com. “InspectMyRide is another tool buyers can use to feel confident about buying the right car at the right price.”
